Home About Beaufort Achievements

Beaufort Community School has been a Specialist Technology school since 2005 gaining this status at the first attempt. This has enabled the school to develop the use of technology in supporting student's learning and improve the ICT facilities within the whole school.   Our Specialist status supports the Design and Technology, Mathematics, Science and ICT departments on an on-going basis by reducing class sizes, funding subject specific developments and covering the cost of staff training. Initial funding enabled the school to modernise the Design and Technology department by re-equipping the workshops and purchasing a CNC laser cutter that helps students understand how products are manufactured in industry.

As a Specialist Technology school we have worked with our partner primary schools and the wider community on a series of projects including running evening adult ICT courses, establishing a joint primary school website, delivering Design and Technology, CT and Mathematics classes to primary students and  hosting  the primary technology challenge.
