Beaufort Community School hosted a visit from the Speaker of the House of Commons, The Right Honourable John Bercow MP, together with Parmjit Dhanda MP, on the morning of Wednesday 7th October 2009.

The Speaker hosted a Year 9 Assembly followed by a question and answer session and then went on to a Year 12 and Year 13 Citizenship lesson. Following a presentation by the students there was an opportunity for the students to ask questions about the Speaker's role and his experiences so far. The Speaker met with staff and then, together with Mr Bride and Parmjit Dhanda, buried a time capsule in the foundations of the new Sixth Form Centre.
