Gloucester City skipper Tom Webb has scooped the Budweiser Player of the Round award for the Third Qualifying Round after claiming 35% of the fans' votes on TheFA.com and edging out Southend Manor hitman Gary Paterson.
The PE teacher made his 400th competitive start for the Tigers, scoring a classy goal and setting up another to inspire his side to a 7-2 victory against Truro City.
Local lad Webb, a midfielder, made his debut for Gloucester aged just 16 and has become a key player for the club during the last ten years and holds the record number of appearances for the club.
His 22nd- minute goal against the Cornish outfit in the Third Round Qualifying gave them a 2-1 lead, as he strolled through from midfield to roudn the keeper and coolly slot home. Gloucester took a 3-1 lead into the break before taking control with four more goals in the second half.
The Conference North side now face a Third Round Qualifying tie away to Chelmsford City on Saturday 28 October.
Webb will receive a commemorative Budweiser Player of the Round trophy and he will also be invited to The FA Cup Final at Wembley next May as a guest of The FA and Budweiser.
