South of Gloucester Learning Trust
Earlier in the school year, a review of secondary education in Gloucestershire called the Badman Report was published. It contained proposals for a number of schools including Beaufort. It praised Beaufort for the work it has done in improving examination results for pupils and recommended that the County Council supported the school in forming a Partnership Trust with our local primary schools and other partners.
We have now completed the process of consulting with parents, staff and the local community about this proposal. We believe that a Trust would greatly support all young people in our local area, and the consultation documents are attached at the bottom of this article.
The Governing Body formally agreed to join the South of Gloucester Learning Trust at their meeting on Tuesday 15th June 2010. The other partners in the Trust will be -
Grange Primary School
Harewood Junior School
The University of Gloucestershire
The Mid-Counties Cooperative Society
NHS Gloucestershire
Action for Children
In addition, Harewood Infants School and Tuffley Primary School will become Associate Members of the Trust.
The Consultation Documents and the detailed proposal for the Trust can be viewed below. If you have any questions about the formation of the Trust please contact us at
