EMERGENCY AID CERTIFICATED COURSE
This is a basic course in workplace first aid aimed at giving people basic knowledge and skills to manage the situation until a fully qualified first aider or other appropriate persons arrive to take over the situation. It is an appropriate level for appointed persons Duration of the course is a minimum of 4 hours but may be enhanced to last a full day, including continuous assessment. Renewable every three years.
INITIAL FIRST AID AT WORK CERTIFICATED COURSE.
This course meets the full requirements set by the HSE in accordance with the HEALTH & SAFETY (FIRST AID) REGULATIONS 1981 and the approved code of practice and guidance L74 and HSG 212. The course is aimed at those members of staff that are required to act as a fully qualified (suitable persons) first aiders in the workplace. Duration of the course is a minimum of 24 contact hours which is usually held over 4 days or sessionally up to13 weeks including the independent assessment.
REQUALIFICATION FIRST AID AT WORK CERTIFICATED COURSE
This course meets the full requirements set by the HSE in accordance with the HEALTH & SAFETY (FIRST AID) REGULATIONS 1981 and the approved code of practice and guidance L74 and HSG 212. It is required to be renewed every three years to enable the first aider to remain qualified. Duration of the course is a minimum of 12 contact hours which is held usually over 2 days or sessionally up to 6 weeks including the independent assessment.
EARLY YEARS AND PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID CERTIFICATED COURSE.
This course is aimed at those people who are responsible for applying first aid treatment and care to children under the age of 8. It meets the criteria set by the DFES. Duration of the course is a minimum of 12 contact hours which is held usually over 2 days or sessionally up to 6 weeks including the continuous assessments. Renewable every 3 years.
COMMUNITY FIRST AID CERTIFICATED COURSE.
This is aimed at providing those knowledge and skills for first aiders who are responsible for treating members of the public, non employees and others. Duration of the course is a minimum of 16 contact hours which is held usually over two and a half days or sessionally up to 8 weeks including the continuous assessments. Renewable every 3 years.
