National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification
Beaufort Sport Centre is an Institute of Qualified Lifeguards Approved Training Centre.
This enables the centre to carry out lifeguard training courses from NPLQ full courses for new candidates to renewal courses for lifeguards whose qualifications are to expire soon. The NPLQ is the ideal qualification if you are looking to start a career in leisure and is open to all abilities 16 years and above.
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) 7th Edition is accepted by most swimming pools as the qualification needed to work as a lifeguard.
The course comprises two units: Unit 1 The Principles of Lifesaving and Swimming Pool Supervision Unit 2 The Application of Supervision and Rescue in a Swimming Pool
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is awarded upon successful completion of both units and is valid for a period of 2 years
National Rescue Test for Swim Teachers and Coaches Award for teachers and coaches when supervising programmed activities. It is not a Lifeguarding qualification. It was designed in 2001 to meet the needs of the swimming teacher and coach.
The NRASTC is awarded upon successful completion of the course and is valid for a period of 2 years. The duration of the course is a minimum of 6 contact hours for renewal and 12 hours for new candidates
