During Key Stage 3 (Years 7 – 9) pupils will follow six units of study per year, each unit exploring different aspects of the National Curriculum framework for English and each producing several assessed pieces of work taught for and marked against specific A.F.’s (Assessment Focuses) under APP (Assessing Pupil Progress), which we have been following for several years now. Across the different units taught, pupils will be assessed through a variety of tasks based on reading, writing and speaking and listening. All pupils will have a target grade based on their previous year’s performance, which we aim for them to achieve by the end of each academic year.
