Some pupils may have the opportunity within their English lessons to undertake the Adult Literacy qualification in either Level 1 or 2 – perhaps both. This is the equivalent of half a GCSE at either C or B grade respectively.

For Levels 1 and 2 in Literacy students will undertake a programme of study where they will work through the literacy workbooks provided by Edexcel. The unit will end with a multiple-choice test, taken online. These are the same as the Key Skills Levels 1 and 2 tests for Application of Number and Communication.
