In Year 11 pupils will have opportunity to complete their Speaking and Listening assessments if they haven’t already done so in Year 10. This is usually one of the first things to be completed. Pupils who are entered for the November early entry for English Language (higher tier) will begin Year 11 studying towards this exam to ensure they are fully prepared for the two exam papers they will sit. Once they have taken the exam, the focus will shift to see them concentrate on the texts that need to be studied for the English Literature paper. Pupils who study both English Language and English Literature, but who are not early entry candidates will spend Year 11 preparing for both examinations, which they will take in the summer term. Pupils who are only entered for English Language will spend Year 11 preparing for the two exam papers they will sit to gain this qualification and may have the opportunity to gain a further qualification by taking the Adult Literacy test. Speaking and Listening
| Pupils will complete three speaking and listening tasks and are graded on each individually, for both speaking and listening abilities. Tasks will be chosen and specified by individual class teachers culminating in the production of three presentations; one completed independently and presented by the indidvidual, one created and presented as a group and one based on a drama activity also presented as a group.
| Exam Preparation
