A2 - You will study 2 topics.

Unit 3 - The United States, 1917-54. Boom, Bust and Recovery.

Unit 4 - The Making of Modern Russia, 1856-1964.
Assessment:
AS - Each unit accounts for 50% of the AS and will be assessed by examination. One exam will require 2 essay style answers,the other 2 source based answers.
A2 - Unit 3 accounts for 60% of the A2 and will be assessed by an essay style question which will incorporate the use of sources.
Unit 4 is a coursework unit which accounts for 40% of the A2.

How people in the past lived and viewed events, changes and personalities of the time. Also understanding how and why these changes occurred.

Researching information, interpreting, evaluating and analysing historical sources, formulating and supporting your own judgements.
