Here at Beaufort Community School we currently offer BTEC Level 3 at a Subsidiary Diploma standard in Year 12. The Subsidiary Diploma is the equivalent of 1 x A2 and carries UCAS Tariff Points which can be used towards gaining a place at University.
The BTEC Nationals are QCF Level 3 qualifications designed to provide highly specialist work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors. They give the learners the knowledge, understanding and skill that they need to prepare for employment. On successful completion of a BTEC National qualification, a learner can progress to or within employment and/or continue their study in the same, or related vocational area.
The Subsidiary Diploma is made up of seven units, those being; Unit 1, Principles of Anatomy & Physiology in Sport; Unit 2, The Physiology of Fitness; Unit 3, Assessing Risk in Sport; Unit 4, Fitness Training & Programming; Unit 7, Fitness Testing for Sport & Exercise; Unit 8, Practical Team Sport and Unit 12, Current Issues in Sport.
Students work is graded using the following criteria: Fail, Pass, Merit and Distinction. As a result each completed unit will be graded and ultimately an overall grade will be given for the course
