My personal thanks to Connie and Sam Simpson for such a moving rendition of 'Fields of Gold' on our behalf. Personally, I thought that it was the best performance by a nautical mile, but who am I to judge?!
Well done to the whole house, in particular the Sports men and women, for admirable performances this year.
Two areas of weakness are poor attenders and Math's challenge.
Might I remind you all that your excellent leavers reference largely depends on attendance being OVER 96%!
WE ARE THE BEAST FROM THE EAST!

Huzzah!

Well done to our Summer Sports Day Team!
It sounds like they won across the board!
Remember, "Together, we are strong!"

Well done to our valiant relay team in the Easter asembly challenge.
Consigned to third place by a last minute rule change

Good effort from the Choir and Santa in the Carol Concert - joint third, and the winners deserved the accolade!

EASTGATE HOUSE HOH HO HO!!!
I would like to thank everyone involved with Eastgate House for their kindness, hard work and support in the first two terms. I am happier than I ever imagined with the new Vertical Tutor Groups. It has been delightful seeing the tutor groups bonding, and new relationships developing.
In particular, a mention for the Year 11 Girls 5-aside Football team. Despite being underdogs, they surprised the other houses by winning the House Matches last week! Also, my gratitude to Miss Ritter and Miss Woodward for their efforts in pulling together such an outstanding choir – they sound beautiful!
In closing, I wish all of you a very Happy Christmas, and a prosperous New Year. I look forward to seeing you all, refreshed and ready to learn, in January.

A Warm Welcome to all from Mr Thorpe-Williams!
Eastgate has a proud history.
Gloucester began as a Roman town. In 64AD the Romans build a fort on the site of Gloucester town centre. Eastgate was part of this fort.
In about 75 AD the Roman army moved on but the site of the fort was turned into a town for retired soldiers called Glevum. Roman Gloucester was laid out in a grid pattern. In the centre of the town was a forum. This was a market place lined withshops and public buildings.
Eastgate was knocked down many years later, only to make access for the important route to the East for vehicles. Yet remains can still be clearly seen today.
Eastgate continues to be a thriving and focal point at the heart of Gloucester.
Many of the best known shops are found in this area.
We intend to be at the front of the continued success of our school, working for each other and the team, building foundations that last like those above.
